MENTAL PRACTICE FOR STROKE SURVIVORS: Relaxation & Body Connection
These 3 mental practice recordings will help stroke survivors relax and connect with the body, help ease stress associated with recovery, and tune into the body. This is especially important for people with impaired sensation.
These audio recordings help activate brain regions associated with sensory functions, interoception, and mental functions of attention and concentration.
Research supports the use of mental practice/visualization as a viable rehabilitation strategy. It is safe and can be used during non-skilled therapy sessions to help improve the areas listed above. In general, it will help the brain re-organize itself.
Thank you for all you do to help stroke survivors recover.
